The Book of Lost Things by John Connoly is the story of David, set at the begining of WWII. After his mother's death, David takes comfort in books. When his father's new wife becomes pregnant, David's books begin to talk to him and he discovers a portal into another world where he finds a fairy tale of his own. However, this is not a fairy tale where everyone lives happily ever after.
Emily: This book reminded me of the stories of Brothers Grimm. Although some quesome events take place, I still thought this was a charming book and liked the way the story led David to learn about honesty, loyalty, bravery, and love.
