About Jilly Watson
Jilly has a passion for hiking in the West Coast rainforests, and this love of the outdoors is reflected in her paintings. She has been interested in drawing and painting since a child but has only been seriously pursuing her craft since her retirement from teaching in 2000, and her move to Bowen Island.
In the summertime Jilly likes to paint en plein air.At other times she works from photographs in her studio. Jilly creates art in a wide variety of sizes and many people purchase her paintings to give as gifts.
“I paint to express the wonder that I feel living in our west coast environment and I paint with bright colours to celebrate the joy I feel when painting”.
