Our Story
Deb McVittie, with her little black lab, Jem, by her side, has owned 32 Books & Gallery in North Vancouver for over fifteen years and this indie bookstore has been serving readers on the North Shore for more than twenty. Deb likes to describe her shop as “an oasis of literary and artistic delight in the heart of Edgemont Village” where 80% of the small businesses are owned by women.
Over the years many interesting items have been added to the well curated book selection including a wide range of greeting cards, local art and interesting jewellery from Canada and abroad, journals, puzzles, games and gifts for all ages and inclinations.

Our books cover all genres and our well-read staff members are always ready to recommend a title to make sure each person finds just the right book for the occasion. Our shop is a gathering place for people and ideas and we are happy to just “talk books” with all who come through our door. Come browse, find your next great read, and be sure to let us know what you think – we welcome your reviews and feedback.
We are honoured to be an active part of our local community by supporting non-profit fund-raisers with donations and prizes so do let us know if you have a special project that could use our assistance.
We are very grateful for our wonderful customers (the two and the four-leggeds) who support our local independent store.
Come in and see us soon… we look forward to meeting you.
